New EU Horizon 2020 project at RECETOX

EU Horizon 2020 programme E-SHAPE project (EuroGEOSS Showcases: Applications Powered by Europe) starts today in a meeting in Cannes, France held 9-10 May 2019. The project is carried out for four years until May 2023.

There are 54 partners from 17 EU countries and Israel, Egypt and Ethiopia. There are seven showcase areas that are aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals and GEO Societal Benefit Areas: food security, health, renewable energy, biodiversity, water resources, disaster resilience and climate that are covered in 27 pilots in more detail and the project aims for strengthening the benefits for Europe of the Global Earth Observation System of Systems.

The RECETOX is involved in a showcase on health and will work on electronic tool for analysing and visualisation of occurrence and changes linked to toxic chemicals in the environment, in particular supporting the global environmental agreements such as the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants.
