RECETOX Research Infrastructure

The RECETOX large research infrastructure (RECETOX RI) is a top class scientific platform for execution of interdisciplinary projects responding to both European research priorities and societal needs in the field of environmental sciences, biomedicine, IT technologies and social studies. The Centre provides a wide range of services associated with its state-of-the-art equipment and expert background concentrated in one place.

RECETOX research infrastructure has been included in the Czech Roadmap of Large Infrastructures for Research, Development and Innovation endorsed by the Czech government in 2010 (updated in 2015). The core facilities of the infrastructure provide support to the RECETOX research programmes, perform own research projects, and are also openly accessible to the external research community, both nationally and internationally. The state of the art research infrastructure of the RECETOX Centre is effectively distributed among research teams; in addition, some infrastructure has been centralized in three core facilities:

  1. Trace analytical laboratories (accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025:2005)
  2. GENASIS information system
  3. Epidemiological database of the ELSPAC longitudinal study

The research infrastructure provides expert services including help with data analysis, their interpretation and outputs. To pass on the expertise, the Centre organizes summer schools, workshops and trainings for the users aiming at their education, increasing their expertise and introducing them to the latest developments in their respective fields. The infrastructure created the background for research in the field of environment and sustainable development on the one hand while on the other hand acts as a platform for developing new methods, technology/know-how transfer, education and consultations. The infrastructure has provided services to the industry, research institutes, healthcare, regional and national administration, ministries, government and international organizations including UN organizations.

The capacity and wide scope of RECETOX RI is unique on a European level and is a prerequisite for the LI to play a significant role in the future as a part of an arising European network of institutes dealing with environmental and healthcare research.

Open-access Call 2016 is now opened

Open-access Call 2016 is now opened. The aim of this call for projects is to open up RECETOX Research Infrastructure core facilities, hosted by Masaryk University, to external users with interesting scientific projects coming from all over the world. In the framework of the RECETOX Research Infrastructure project use of below specified RECETOX facilities is free of charge for participating researchers.

This is a rolling call. All received project proposals will immediately go through evaluation process. Should they be evaluated positively, project applicants will be invited immediately to come and conduct their experiments. The costs of access are covered by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic.
