Evaluation of the proposal

All submitted applications are evaluated on the quarterly basis in a two-stage evaluation process. In the first step, a technical feasibility of the proposed project is evaluated by the head of respective core facility or research programme. In the second step, a quality of the proposal is evaluated by an expert panel based on the project description and a CV of applicant. The proposals on exploitation of the population databases have to be also approved by the ELSPAC Executive Board (and Ethical committee if needed). On the contrary, the proposals for the joint projects with the research programmes are only a subject of approval of the respective programme leader. The evaluation outcome is presented to the Extended Executive Board of the RECETOX Centre for a final decision. The procedure is the same for external and internal users.

All applicants are informed on the evaluation outcome within three months from the proposal submission. Immediately after the final decision, successful applicants are contacted by the open-access manager of the RECETOX RI to prepare a technical implementation of the project. They are assigned a local project supervisor and communicate implementation of the project with the head of respective core facility and/or a supervisor.
