Global Symposium on Soil Pollution

We would like to invite you to an exciting scientific event on soil pollution jointly organized jointly by the BRS Secretariat with the Food and Agriculture Organization, the Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils and other partners.

The Global Symposium on Soil Pollution aims to provide scientific impetus to support actions and policies to prevent and reduce soil pollution for increased food safety, food security and nutrition, ecosystem services, and promote the restoration of polluted sites. The issues to be addressed are highly relevant to the objectives of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Convention to protect human health and the environment from the harmful effects of hazardous chemicals and wastes.

The Symposium will take place in Rome, Italy, from 2 to 4 May 2018. There is no registration fee and participation in the symposium is free. A concept note is here (PDF file) and more details on the symposium and registration information can be found at http://www.fao.org/about/meetings/global-symposium-on-soil-pollution.Submission of abstracts to the symposium is currently open.
