From 10–12 November 2025, the town of Hustopeče hosted the 24th annual conference “Air Quality in Time”, organized by the Czech Aerosol Society (ČAS) in cooperation with the research infrastructures RECETOX and ACTRIS-CZ.
The event brought together 80 experts from academia, public administration, and technology companies. The program featured plenary lectures, thematic sessions, a poster section, and the traditional young scientists’ competition – the Dekati Award.
The main topics of the conference focused on:
- The long-term impact of traffic on air quality in Central Europe
- Dynamics of aerosol sources and chemical composition of particles
- The influence of aerosols on cloud formation and on climate and environmental processes
- New methods for measuring air quality and working with sensors
Plenary lectures were delivered by:
- Martin Gysel-Beer (Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland) – An experimental approach to the life cycle of black carbon and its atmospheric impacts
- Gerhard Lammel (Max Planck Institute, Germany & RECETOX, MU) – Organic pollutants in the global atmosphere – new trends
The conference once again confirmed its importance as a platform for sharing expertise, presenting current research methods, and connecting scientific communities. It offered participants space to exchange experiences and establish new collaborations that can further strengthen research on air quality and aerosol processes.
