Special Lecture by Prof. Dr. Alexander Heckel
Topic: "The Worst Photoswitches Ever - and What to Do with Them" Speaker: Prof. Dr. Alexander Heckel Date & Time: Wednesday, September 25, 2024, 3:00 PM Location: Room 309/A8 (Bohunice Campus)
Light regulation of nucleic acid activity offers powerful ways to design experiments with precise spatiotemporal control. Even though photoswitching of DNA hybridization has been around for about 25 years, there's still much room for improvement. During this talk, Prof. Heckel will share insights from their work on a system that showed surprisingly poor performance—and how this unexpected outcome led to new discoveries.
