Julie Dobrovolná and Jakub Hofman: new professors at RECETOX
On Wednesday, June 17, the President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman signed the appointment decrees of new university professors. We are very pleased that among them are two representatives of the RECETOX Research center at Masaryk University. The highest academic titles awarded in the Czech Republic were awarded to Julie Dobrovolná and Jakub Hofman who head the Molecular Metabolism and Chronic Diseases, and the Soil Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology research groups at RECETOX, respectively.
Both received appointment decrees from the Czech Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Robert Plaga, on July 2 in the Karolinum in Prague.

Martin Bobák and Hynek Pikhart, ERA Chairs at RECETOX
Research already being conducted at RECETOX, examining various factors affecting human and population health, will be bolstered by the two accomplished Czech scientists who have been working abroad for over twenty years. With the funding from the ERA Chair grant, Martin Bobák and Hynek Pikhart from UCL will develop the Environmental Epidemiology research programme at RECETOX. Although officially their work on the project began on July 1st, their physical presence in Brno is currently limited by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. They will look for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to their new emerging ERA Chair team.

16. Summer school is successfully over!
The annual RECETOX Summer School, which we are organizing at RECETOX since 2005, was held online for the first time due to the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic. From Monday 15 to Friday 19 June, around 200 participants from the summer school met regularly throughout the week to listen to lectures by world-renowned experts in toxicology, smart cities, urban air quality, human health and learn more about scientific projects which sponsored the whole event.
The RECETOX Research Infrastructure organized the summer school in cooperation with the grants URBAN X, SMURBS, and the Stockholm Convention Regional Center in the Czech Republic, which were presented here by their representatives. A total of 28 lecturers presented themselves in 24 lectures lasting almost 20 hours to pass on their knowledge, results, and experience to participants from 45 countries represented from all continents except Antarctica.
We would like to thank all participants for their participation in this event, the organizers for their commitment and invention, and we look forward to the next year, which will hopefully retake place in the normal mode in the premises of RECETOX.

News in the OHS&FP
From June 1, 2020, Ms. Alena Bečková became the specialist for the Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Safety, and Facility Management of RECETOX. OSH & FS field she took over from doc. Šimek to whom we would like to thank for the years of work dedicated to this agenda! Occupancy permit for the Biobank issued
On June 25, 2020, in accordance with the schedule, the occupancy permit was issued for the use of pavilion A29SB (Biobank). Thank you for the cooperation to the whole MUNI team, the PAK designer, the Contractor of the PS BRNO association, s.r.o. and BLOCK a.s. and last but not least, the Construction Administrators of INVIN, who took part in the construction of this very difficult and interesting construction.
