The grand opening of the new laboratories for human exposome research
On Friday, October 7th, the grand opening of the new laboratories for human exposome research at the RECETOX center took place. The event was initiated by the center’s director, Jana Klánová, who welcomed the guest, Richard Woychik, Director of the US National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences. Read more HERE.

“Forever chemicals” are in the milk of Czech mothers and all around us. A blanket ban would solve it.
They are all around us, and we use them more often than we realize. In nature, they hardly decompose and can be toxic to the human body. We are talking about perfluorinated and polyfluorinated compounds, or PFAS.

Extremely High Levels of PBDEs Found in Children’s Toys from European Markets
With the high influx of low-cost plastic toys on the market, there is growing concern about the safety of such toys. Some of these plastic toys contains hazardous chemicals like polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) due to the use of recycled plastics in new toy manufacturing. Read more HERE.

“The substances we studied in the CELSPAC-FireExpo project with firefighters are all around us, and the population is commonly exposed to them,” says environmental epidemiologist Nina Pálešová.
Nina Pálešová is an environmental epidemiologist and a recent PhD graduate. In the interview, we explored what both of her research topics have in common with her interest in the environment, and where everyone can come into contact with toxic substances. Read more HERE.

Student Klára Cigošová: For research in simulated microgravity all the way to France
She studied at an art high school and is now engaged in research on tooth development and regeneration at the Faculty of Medicine. In addition, she is in her first year of the bachelor’s program in Environment and Health at the RECETOX center. Klára Cigošová breaks many stereotypes with her diverse range of interests. Dear colleagues, The Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe project coordinators would like to remind you of the importance of complying with project obligations and fulfilling the timesheets and other requirements. If you are employed on an H2020 or HEU project, you must fill in the Description of the Work Activity on the Project at the beginning of your involvement with the project. You are also obliged to fill in the monthly Timesheets throughout your involvement with the project. If you are not sure if you are employed on one of the H2020 or HEU projects, or if you want to know more click here. Here you can find the new video manual for filling in the Timesheets.
