International Clinical Research Center (ICRC) in Brno, Czech Republic, operates under auspices of St. Anne’s University hospital Brno (FNUSA). ICRC is a new generation science and research center focusing on finding new methods, technologies and medicaments for effective prevention, early diagnostics and individualized treatment of cardiovascular and neurological diseases. Kardiovize Brno 2030 is a health prevention scheme that aims to identify the actual health risks of Brno town citizens, and to minimize these, by 2030, through prevention programs. In the project’s first phase, mapping risk factors for cardiovascular disease is now underway within a randomly selected population of Brno, the participants’ age ranging from 25 to 64 years, while during the second phase, suitable prevention programs will be proposed based on the results obtained, which are to focus on reducing the occurrence of the risk factors identified. ICRC is the most important clinical partner of this project that will collaborate on harmonizing protocols and standard operation procedures in KARDIOVIZE, ELSPAC and TNG studies.
International Clinical Research Centre of the St.Anne's University Hospital will be the project partner combining fundamental and translational research with clinical medicine. As the unique research institute running in the university hospital in local environment, ICRC will deliver the missing expertise in health research. The main representative of the ICRC is Dr. Gorazd B. Stokin, MD who is not only PI of Translational Neuroscience and Aging Research Program but also he is the the Chair of the ICRC so there is assured interaction with relevant expertise.
