R-Exposome Chair

Unlocking the RECETOX potential in the exposome research

Project's goal

The main goal of this ERA Chair project is to develop new capacities for the Environmental Health at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic (CR), by establishing the excellent international scientist as a leader of new research programme of Environmental Epidemiology, Biostatistics and/or Bioinformatics and as the MU ERA Chair

About RECETOX

The RECETOX Centre is one of the research flagship research institutes of Masaryk University(MU) in Brno, CR, currently implementing 15 H2020 projects. Originally, the research agenda of the Centre focused on the assessment of sources, transport and transformation processes, and environmental impacts of the legacy and emerging pollutants.

Why at RECETOX?

With a long tradition of environmental monitoring and a newly built potential of population studies, databases, and biobanks, RECETOX has a significant comparative advantage. The new research group will focus on interpretation of available regional data on the environmental exposures and their impacts on population health, and on development of new education programmes.

ERA Chair's involvement at RECETOX

With a long tradition of environmental monitoring and a newly built potential of population studies, databases, and biobanks, RECETOX has a comparative advantage. In order to capitalize on it, the existing expertise has to be complemented with the sufficient capacity for integrative analysis of newly generated data on environmental exposures of target populations with those resulting from the advanced omics technologies but also with valuable longitudinal information on the population life-style, dietary habits, or socioeconomic conditions.

To fill this gap, the Centre seeks the senior scientist capable of supervising the new interdisciplinary team of researchers educated in the fields of environmental and social epidemiology, population models, public health, biostatics, bioinformatics, and related fields.
