Training of experts

Regional Centre provides specialized short term and long-term training and education courses to a range of stakeholders - from experts and researchers to decision makers. The trainings provide both theoretical and practical training in POPs/emerging chemicals analyses including operation of laboratory instrumentation, their identification, information on properties, behaviour, effects, risk assessment and generation and management of data including their interpretation. There are 5-20 trainings or workshops per year. A full overview of past training activities is provided in Activity reports available here.

The flagship training activity is the International Summer School that started in 2005 as a week-long residential course in person at RECETOX, building theoretical and practical capacities in identification, analysis and monitoring of toxic chemicals. Over the years over 1000 participants from 80 countries participated in past years. The topic of the Summer School changes every year to mirror current challenges in the environment and health nexus. The overview of Summer Schools is available here (in Czech, leflets in English).
