Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation

Urban populations, already consisting of more than half of the world’s population are rapidly growing. Consequently, an increasing number of people are exposed to many environmental insults, such as pollution and noise, which can adversely affect their health. The “urban exposome” concept has emerged in response to the urgent need understand the impacts of urban environments on human health.  

URBAN_X aims to develop strategic partnerships between the RECETOX Centre in the Czech Republic and three leading European international counterparts (UCL in the UK, ISGlobal in Spain, Utrecht University in the Netherlands). The partnerships which will include scientific collaborations and networking activities will enhance European research excellence in the field of urban exposome.
