From January to November, RECETOX was mentioned 239 times in the media. RECETOX was also successful on social media. The reach on Instagram was increased by 307%, on FB by 62.5%. Below you can see the most successful posts of the year.

RECETOX researchers receive MUNI Scientist award
Every year the Masaryk University Grant Agency awards outstanding scientific achievements . Among the recipients for the , 2022-2023 period , were also ro RECETOX scientists prof. Petr Klán and doc. Klára Hilscherová. They received the award from Vice-Rector Šárka Pospíšilová in the historical premises of the Augustinian Abbey.

RECETOX again involved in global assessment of toxic substances
RECETOX is active in international negotiations on environmental pollution and its impact on human health. At the last POPRC, RECETOX researcher Katarína Řiháčková represented the Czech Republic. Together with other experts, she discussed the regulation of five toxic substances or groups of substances in Rome, 26-30 September 2022. For four of them, the Committee members agreed on a unified approach, but the regulation of chlorpyrifos will be discussed again.

Press release: MUNI held a scientific symposium in Brussels and founded an international think-tank
On November 9, 2022, Masaryk University held an international scientific symposium addressing environmental and health crises, in Brussels, under the auspices of the Czech presidency and the support of the Czech Minister for European Affairs. The RECETOX research center of the Masaryk University Faculty of Science which deals with risks arising from environmental pollution actively participated in organizing the symposium.

Environmental chemist Branislav Vrana: To the first conference, we drove in an old Skoda Felicia
Beer and wine. That's why Associate Professor Branislav Vrana decided to study food chemistry at the university. Initially, he wanted to become a professional brewer or winemaker, but his plans took a completely different direction, and he became an environmental chemist. For his first trip abroad, Brana had to wait because of the political situation, but then he traveled and lived with his family in Germany and the UK. Why did he decide to travel abroad? Organizational change
|
Within the Operational Department, there is an organizational change - with effect from 1.12. the Building Management department is set aside, headed by Martin Pěnčík. The department is responsible for all matters related to defects, modifications and repairs in buildings, health and safety, property management and cleaning and maintenance of buildings. Other parts of the operations department under the leadership of Tomáš Koláček remain unchanged.

Students for students!
Since October, Ph.D. students at RECETOX have joined forces and formed the Ph.D. Union, aims to improve students’ quality of life and studies (in a transparent and open way). Meetings will be held every month where all Ph.D. students are welcome to get involved and voice their ideas and opinions.
Ph.D. students are now represented during official RECETOX and faculty meetings by Ishita Virmani and Ludovic Mayer who are the representatives for this academic year. More information about the meetings and Ph.D. community: link to PhD RECETOX teams.
