Katarzyna Kordas - Fulbright grantee came to RECETOX
Kasia Kordas, associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health at the University at Buffalo, has received a Fulbright Distinguished Scholar Fellowship. Thanks to this support, Dr. Kordas will be able to spend the fall semester at Masaryk University's RECETOX, where she will spend the next four months developing research collaborations with scientists and contributing to the development of the Environment and Health curriculum.

2nd Teaming Club Conference
Jana Klánová and Jan Ostřížek participated in the 2nd Teaming Club Conference. Representatives of forty centres met in Slovenia to share experiences and deepen cooperation.

Open Day of the Brno Living Lab
The RECETOX Centre has studied the relationship between humans and the environment for 40 years. The celebration of this event, which will take place throughout the autumn and summer semesters of 2023/2024, began on 21 September with the opening of an exhibition presenting the history of the Centre. The exhibition can be viewed in the Bohunice campus corridor until mid-December.

Students for students
Since October 2022, Ph.D. students at RECETOX have joined forces and formed the Ph.D. Union aims to improve students’ quality of life and studies in a transparent and open way. Ph.D. students were represented during official RECETOX and faculty meetings by Ishita Virmani and Ludovic Mayer, who were the representatives for the first academic year.

Collaboration between Örebro University and Masaryk University
A three-member delegation from the University of Örebro led by Rector Prof. Johan Schnürer accepted the invitation from Jana Klánová, director of RECETOX. They visited Brno to discuss cooperation issues between Masaryk University and the University of Örebro. The main discussion topics were cooperation in sustainability, research, teaching, and research infrastructures.

On Friday evening, October 6, 2023, visitors came to the Bohunice campus and immersed themselves in the world of science. Researcher’s Night is the event that provides the public with a unique opportunity to learn more about the topics scientists are working on.

Invitation for a talk of Katarzyna Kordas (University at Buffalo): Environmental exposures in a Global South city – effects on child development and health
We would like to coordially invite you to a lecture of Katarzyna Kordas (State University of New York at Buffalo) on: Environmental exposures in a Global South city – effects on child development and health. This talk will be a part of RECETOX Seminar Series.
On Tuesday, October 17th morning, Kasia Kordas, associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health at the University at Buffalo, and a Fulbright Distinguished Scholar now residing at the RECETOX Centre of the Masaryk University (article HERE) will give a talk on child development and health in cities of Global South and introduce both environmental and societal views including various exposures in such environment. This talk will be a part of the traditional RECETOX Seminar Series.
The talk will take place on Tuesday, October 17th, from 9:00, in lecture room D29/252 (RCX1) in the Bohunice Campus and will be followed by a "meet-the-speaker" session."
