Visitors could see the Brno Living Lab at the Festival of Science and Technology. We showed them how the sampling process works and how we collect and analyze samples.

The youngest visitors assembled chemical warning symbols and a  sampler called "UFO." We had small gifts for them in the form of stickers, pencils, and diaries. We talked to the children about the indoor environment, how it is affected by the outside environment (e.g., rush hour traffic), or activities, we usually do in the rooms. We counted how much dust we had eaten in our lifetime and discussed the importance of studying dust.

We talked with visitors about a multisensory campaign and showed exciting examples of measurements to explain how we can influence air quality. We prepared leaflets for interested people with recommendations about what they could do in their homes.

Visitors learned about the Tromso project, which aimed to characterize air quality throughout the week with the help of school children. We showed visitors the small instruments which were invented and designed by our scientists and the company Baghirra. These "pocket-sized" samplers measure different size fractions of airborne aerosol, and people could see and test them.

We also had on display the Palas Fidas 200S. This sampler measures the size distribution of airborne aerosols in real-time by measuring scattered light at 90° angles on individual particles and uses it to determine dust fractions simultaneously. Attendees of all ages were also very interested in it.

Thank you all for visiting our stand; we are delighted to have participated in this popularisation event, which attracts thousands of visitors annually.
