Kasia Kordas, associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health at the University at Buffalo, has received a Fulbright Distinguished Scholar Fellowship. The Fulbright Program is not only a prestigious academic exchange program but also aims to expand and strengthen relationships between people in the United States and citizens of other countries and to promote international understanding and cooperation. Thanks to this support, Dr. Kordas will be able to spend the fall semester at Masaryk University's RECETOX, where she will spend the next four months developing research collaborations with scientists and contributing to the development of the Environment and Health curriculum. Students can look forward to seeing Dr. Kordas in the Introduction to Epidemiology and Environmental Health and Public Health Protection courses. In addition, she would like to be involved in promoting student exchange between the two universities.

Kordas has extensive academic experience and serves as the Director of the Community for Global Health Equity. She also serves as the director of the MPH Concentration in Epidemiology. This program emphasizes understanding the role of epidemiology in the broader context of public health.

Previously, Kasia Kordas led the epidemiology section of the ALSPAC (the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children) cohort study, known as "Children of the Nineties." This study is part of the so-called European Longitudinal Study of Pregnancy and Childhood (ELSPAC), which RECETOX/CELSPAC also handles. Kordas has won numerous awards, including the Dean's Award for Community Service.

We look forward to working with Dr. Kordas and wish her to enjoy her stay at our center. We will inform you about her work soon, and you can also look forward to an interview.
