Our ESR Yang Wang spent his summer secondment at DuPont Nutrition Biosciences ApS, part of IFF in Aarhus, Denmark. His secondment was focused on proteomics study and understanding the proteomic response of springtails to phenanthrene combined with drought. I am Yang Wang from Aarhus University, the ESR1 in PRORISK project. From 2nd of May to 30th of June 2022, I was placed at DuPont Nutrition Biosciences ApS part of IFF in Aarhus of Denmark during my internship.
I received a very warm welcome from colleagues at IFF and they passionately showed me around the buildings, canteen and facilities at IFF. Under the supervision of Steffen and Anders, I performed a proteomics study through the process of extracting proteins to analyze the proteomic data using their state-to-the-art technologies. The internship aimed to understand the proteomic response of springtails to phenanthrene combined with drought. With guidance from Steffen and training from other colleagues at IFF, I got familiar with the work environment, obeyed the rules, and gradually knew about proteomics. It was a very pleasant time to work at IFF.
I was also inspired by their enterprise goals, visions and values. Let me quote their goal “Applying science and creativity for a better world” and say a hardcore of science for business is so cool!
