Our ESR Yang Wang spent a month at the coordinator's home institution – Recetox, at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. Yang's secondment was aimed to link molecular responses to effects at higher biological levels. You can read his experiences in his short report.
I am Yang Wang, the ESR1 in PRORISK project. My secondment at RECETOX of Masaryk University in Brno was aimed to link molecular responses to effects at higher biological levels.
After my arrival, I received a very warm welcome from Prorisk colleagues Audrey (ESR8), Chander (ESR4), Hana, Ludek, and Klara. Chander and Audrey passionately guided me on tour around the Recetox and cared about my settlement in Brno.
During my stay from 17 October to 17 December 2022, the hosting institution provided a nice working environment, professional knowledge, academic seminars and a Christmas party for me to perform the tasks smoothly, widen my understanding of toxicology, and ensure my enjoyable stay (enjoyed sunshine outside the office and a cute pet might join you occasionally.
With the help of Ludek, Ondrej, Chander, and Audrey, my study was a pleasant and nice journey of learning new knowledge toward the study goal.
Furthermore, thanks to office mates at the RECETOX, I had nice experiences of visiting the Christmas market in Brno, seeing the Cathedral of St. Peter and St.Paul, enjoying the local foods and having some fun in a bar, and so on.
Generally, I enjoyed my secondment in RECETOX and looked forward to the scientific outcomes of our cooperation. Here is a nice photo of colleagues with lovely smileys at the end of my secondment.
