Industrial and Commercial users

RECETOX provides industrial and commercial users access to its state-of-the-art Research Infrastructure (RI), either through collaborative research with RECETOX, or as contracted research.

Collaborative research

Applications for collaborative research may be submitted by either RECETOX or by external researchers. However, when a RECETOX researcher is responsible for a project, work package or task within a project, in which RI resources are required, they must submit the application themselves. This will ensure staff and instrument capacities are best allocated to balance the needs of all internal and external users.

Commercial collaborations are subject to the same evaluation process as the open access projects, however, are not eligible for funding.

Contracted research

Industrial and commercial clients mainly utilize services and expertise provided by the trace laboratories and research programmes, since environmental data is publicly available, and commercial use of data from population studies is forbidden.

The prices of services provided by the trace laboratories are approved by the RECETOX Extended Executive Board. They include the costs of operating the equipment, staff resources, material and services needed for sampling and/or analysis, amortization of equipment, overhead charges and VAT. Travel conducted by technicians for obtaining samples is determined once its completed. An estimate is provided beforehand. The conditions governing contract research are specified in the written contract including the terms, prices and intellectual property rights if applicable. At the end of the project a written report must be submitted.
