The composition of core facilities forming the Research Infrastructure provides the basis for the implementation of interdisciplinary research projects which incorporate:
- Analysis of a wide spectrum of anthropogenic and natural toxins in various environmental and biological matrices,
- Long-term environmental and population studies,
- Development of comprehensive software tools for data management, analysis, interpretation, and visualization.
In 2010, RECETOX RI was incorporated into the Roadmap of Large Research Infrastructures of the Czech Republic, supported by the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
RECETOX RI also participated in the establishment of the Czech national Node of ACTRIS RI (ESFRI RI).
At present, RECETOX aims to create a new distributed research infrastructure in the field of environmental exposure assessment at European level (ESFRI*).

RECETOX Laboratories consist of accredited Trace Analytical Laboratories, Omics labs and Environmental monitoring networks. Our expert staff woks in the QA/QC system, utilizes advanced equipment and techniques for sampling, extraction, fractionation, purification and analysis of samples, applying established analytical methods.
New research platform for population studiues support was established as the third core facility of the RECETOX research infrastructure in 2014.
This facility participates is involved in implementation of population studies such as the European Longitudinal Study of Pregnancy And Childhood (ELSPAC), the follow-up Central European Longitudinal Study of Pregnancy And Childhood (CELSPAC) studies or TNG. For the purposes of the future research, the core facility manages large-scale epidemiological databases, and develops new biobank.
The Information systems core facility offers software tools for management, analysis, interpretation and visualization of environmental data. It includes a tool for joint analysis and visualization of environmental contamination data (GENASIS Information system) and a unit offering integrated data analysis and services in the field of bioinformatics, biostatistics and indentification of biomarker, which follows experimental work.
Non-analytical laboratory capacities
The capacities of accredited Trace analysis laboratories are complemented by distributed capacities of specialized laboratories supporting research in the areas of photochemistry, supramolecular chemistry, toxicology and protein engineering.
Access to these laboratories is follows the same rules as access to the above-mentioned core facilities.
