Global Forum of the Group of Earth Observations 2025
„The Earth Talks“ was a motto of the 2025 Global Forum of the Group of Earth Observations (GEO) held on May 5-9 in the Auditorium della Tecnica in Rome. GEO brought together all elements of our society – from ministers and global leaders to citizens – to harness Earth Intelligence to empower informed and ambitious actions to ensure food security, restore ecosystems, prevent disasters, and confront the triple planetary crisis, transforming the Sustainable Development Goals into an achievable reality.
The RECETOX Centre was represented by Jana Klanova who presented the vision of RECETOX and the concept of the ESFRI infrastructure EIRENE at the EU Booth. RECETOX has a long history of collaboration with GEO since Jana Klanova leads together with Nicola Pirrone from the Italian node of EIRENE the GEO Initiatives GOS4POP (Global Observation System for Persistent Organic Pollutants) and GOS4M (Global Observation System for Mercury). Nicola Pirrone co-hosted the GEO Forum and helped to organize a panel discussion on „One Health“ as part of the Ministerial Segment of the Forum. EIRENE was represented in this panel by the leader of the French node Robert Barouki.
