Upgrading the Research Infrastructure
The Horizon 2020 TEAMING project is complemented by the national ESIF funding, which is ensuring the infrastructural upgrade of the RECETOX Centre, namely its Research Infrastructure. One of our most important achievements in the area of Research infrastructure upgrade is the completion of the construction of the CELSPAC biobank, which is being followed by its equipment with the state-of-the art devices and systems.
Biobank is to be used for processing and long-term storage/management of unique samples. Long-term storage of a biological sample requires extremely low temperature, long-term stability of storage conditions, high accuracy and expertise. Achieving such goals requires advanced technologies that complicate building management but, on the other hand, ensure the employee safety. The biobank pavilion was designed to be modular with the possibility of using various technologies for sample storage, which is important to be able to store different types of samples in different storage regimes.
The biobanking systems and corresponding IT and data solutions are developed in cooperation with our advanced partner of BBMRI.
