Along with Jana Klánová, this extraordinary award was also received by Eduard Palíšek, CEO of Siemens in the Czech Republic, and Martin Fusek, director of IOCB TTO s.r.o., which manages the technology transfer process for the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences (ÚOCHB, AV ČR, v.v.i.).
The TAČR research council, of which Jana Klánová is a member, submits requirements for new programs to the TAČR presidency, comments on proposals for programs prepared or managed by TAČR, evaluates the interim and final results of programs, and assesses the professional level of the Technology Agency. In her role on the TAČR research council, Jana Klánová focuses on international cooperation and the interdisciplinarity of research.
Jana Klánová has long been involved in studying the occurrence and environmental and health impacts of toxic substances in indoor and outdoor environments, products, and food. She is very active in transferring scientific knowledge into legislation and application work, serves as an expert for the UN and WHO, and is a member of numerous expert groups and advisory bodies at both national and international levels.
