RECETOX in 2023

The year 2023 is behind us. It has brought us a number of awards and significant events. We launched the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the RECETOX Centre, we have been supporting the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Africa through the Stockholm Convention Regional Centre on POPs for 14 years, and we became the fourth WHO Collaborating Centre in the Czech Republic. Awards for scientists

Prof. Ivan Holoubek was awarded the honorary title of Professor Emeritus MUNI for his extraordinary and inspiring scientific work.

Prof. Jana Klánová received an honorary doctorate from the University of Örebro.

Prof. Jiří Damborský, head of the Loschmidt Laboratories, received the Medal of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic for his contribution to the development of science.

Dr. Tomáš Slanina graduated from the Photochemistry group of Prof. Petr Klán received the Neuron Award 2023 for Promising Scientists in Chemistry.

Dr. Lisa Emily Melymuk, group leader in Chemical pollutants and human exposure routes research, received an award from MUNI Scientist 2023 for her article published in the International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health.

Dr. Martin Toul, a graduate of the Loschmidt Laboratories, received the highest award for Czech scientists - the Czech Head, the Doctorandus Award, the MŠMT Award, the MU Rector's Award for outstanding students in doctoral study programmes, and the Vice-Rector for Research and Doctoral Studies award for excellence in doctoral studies at Masaryk University. Martin's supervisor was Prof. Zbyněk Prokop, and his consultant was Prof. Jiří Damborský.

Dr. Barbara Kubíčková, a graduate of Environmental Toxicology under the supervision of doc. Klára Hilscherová won the Rector's Prize for an outstanding dissertation.

The prizes for excellence in doctoral studies at Masaryk University went to Dr. Darshak Gadara (supervisor, Dr. Zdeněk Spáčil) and Dr. Libor Šulc (supervisor doc. Pavel Čupr)

Daniel Pluskal and Martin Marek received 2nd place in the Transfer Technology Day 2023 finals for Luciferase Reporter System with Extremely Stable Bioluminescence Signal.
